Work Environment

Directing the lodging activities and regular duties of the Barking Birch staff is a very active job. It involves standing, walking, bending, stooping, and cleaning. Managers direct staff on a regular basis and are also expected to pitch in where needed. This might include cleaning, directing play groups, and any necessary tasks of the staff the acting manager supervises.

All animals at barking Birch are required to be up to date with their vaccinations. First-time visitors are required to go through a behavior assessment to ensure the safety of canine and human pack members. Even so, working around animals can be unpredictable. We require our human pack members to be alert and undistracted at all times.

Throughout the day, we work in groups and individually with team members and animals. The members of our pack must value integrity, responsibility, and patience. Our Boarding Manager should be open and communicative with the rest of our team; with their direct reports, with the fellow managers, and with Barking Birch Leadership.
